Sharing in the sufferings of our fellow Filipinos devastated by the Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses on November 01 and November 08, 2020, the AdZU Senior High School community under the leadership of its Assistant Principal for Formation Bro. Jeffrey U. Pioquinto, SJ joined hands to raise funds in order to send relief assistance. A day before the landfall of Ulysses, the unit was able to raise an amount of more than P23,430.00 from the cash donations given by generous donors, especially by the families of some of our Grade 11 and 12 students.

Support didn’t also stop coming after this as more students, teachers and staff across the three units of the university extended help when a second typhoon hit the recently flooded regions. This time, an amount of P186,645.00 plus assorted in-kind donations were raised for the affected communities. Still, the sending of relief assistance didn’t stop here.

On November 20, 2020, a collaborative donation drive “Paubaya: Gamit Ko, Donasyon Mo” was launched by student organizations of Hiraya, Liberal Arts Academic Organization, The Oculus Publications, Ateneo Liga de Ciencia, the Social Networking Administration Panel, Tugon Atenista, Interact Club - AdZU SHS, SHS SaFil, Taymanghud, Abacus Maximus, Eureka-STEM Academic Organization, and La Casa TVL. This is to augment the support for regions affected by Typhoon Ulysses including flooded areas in Brgy. Bunguiao of Zamboanga City, through online selling of preloved items from the members of the aforementioned clubs.
